Are Z-Racks the ultimate MakerSpace furniture platform?

I’m a believer in DIY furniture for MakerSpaces not only because I haven’t seen many commercial alternatives, and the few I have usually cost too much, but I also feel it is important to model building to the students.

I have found Z-Racks to be a great “platform” for building furniture because with a little wood and zip-ties you can put your lab on the road.   Z-Racks are great because not only are they incredibly stable, but also they stack flat (OK, not so flat if you make furniture on them, but still, it’s not bad if you keep it narrow.)  Here are some examples.
